Does a verbal agreement carry any more weight if it is done in the presence of witnesses firstly, and secondly if one of the witnesses is your solicitor?
Alasdair Taylor's Answer
In theory, the presence of witnesses does not affect the validity of a verbal agreement. However, if the witnesses agree with one of the parties as to the existence and content of the agreement, that may make it harder for the other party to argue that the agreement was never made, or to misrepresent the content of the agreement.
