Dissolved company

Hi

I recently came in contact with a person that was a rep for a profit compounding trading company. Website looks legit, the customer service people told me when I questioned them about the fact I checked out their company online through U.K. Government company check, that it says dissolved, they told me they have to register every 2 yrs with UK government, this why it says dissolved. Is this true as I haven’t been able to find anything on the UK government website to state this? I’m not big on investing 5k into a dissolved company!

A company that is dissolved has ceased to exist in law; and there is no requirement to re-register a UK company periodically.
