Can I organize a commercial event in the UK as a visitor?

Hi,

I have an online personal development coaching and training practice registered as a business in the UK even though I am not a UK national / resident.

My question is that if I were to organize an event in the UK for motivational speaking the tickets for which would have a fee and be sold online in advance (using EventBrite or my own website), would it be considered a permissible activity under UK immigration rules for visitors – which state that “a visitor may give a one-off or short series of talks and speeches provided these are not organised as commercial events and will not make a profit for the organiser”.

I will be visiting the UK in my personal capacity but speaking at the event as a UK business owner – so would it be considered permissible under the visitor rules, or would I always need to have someone else speak at the training events that I will be organizing for the public and my followers in the UK?

Thanks

Thanks for your question.

I don’t have any expertise in immigration law, but I’ll see if I can find someone who can answer this question and, if I can, I’ll post his or her answer here.
