Please advise. I have just realised the person running the company I work for is not a director or anything. He has signed my contract. Is the contract legally binding?
Alasdair Taylor's Answer
Employees and agents other than directors may be granted the authority to sign contracts on behalf of a company.
In cases where there is no actual authority, there may be ostensible authority.
Whether the person in your case has actual or ostensible authority to sign contracts on behalf of the company will depend upon the detailed facts.
